My dad lived his whole life and died this evening, around 8 pm, at age 
93. It was no surprise - you could predict it for two years. Of course 
you're never quite prepared for the reality. (That has something to do 
with why I'm sharing this news with most of the email addresses I keep 
track of.) The funeral will probably be on Saturday.
